On your phone
Everything the keyboard learns and keeps — learned words, saved corrections, clipboard history, touch calibration, settings, custom modes, and an AI key if you entered one — is in the app's private storage on your device. To delete it:
- Some of it: Typesmith → Settings → Learned words (remove any or all), Saved corrections, and the clipboard panel's delete buttons.
- All of it, keeping the app: Android Settings → Apps → Typesmith → Storage → Clear storage.
- All of it: uninstall Typesmith. Android removes the app's storage with it.
Backup files you made are yours, wherever you saved them; delete them there. They are encrypted with your passphrase and unreadable without it.
On our server
If you never subscribed to Typesmith AI, our server holds nothing about you at all.
If you did, it holds a hashed identifier of the subscription, its status and expiry, and daily usage counts (see the privacy policy). These are deleted on their own — subscription records 90 days after the subscription was last active, usage counts after 30 days — or sooner on request:
- Cancel the subscription in Google Play if it is still active, so nothing new is written.
- Email support@focusdot.dev with the order number from your Google Play receipt (it starts with
GPA.). We need it to find your record; we hold no name or email to search by. - We delete the record and the usage counts and confirm by reply, within 30 days and usually within a few.
Google Play keeps its own record of the purchase under Google's privacy policy; we can't delete that, and you can manage it in your Google account.
Anything sent to an AI
Text you sent to an AI feature was forwarded to the provider and not kept by our server. With your own key, the provider's own retention applies (OpenAI's API retains data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes it). With Typesmith AI, the same applies at the provider we use; we hold nothing.
