TypesmithTerms of Service
These are the terms between you and FocusDot (“we”) for the Typesmith keyboard and the services around it. They are short because the app is simple; please do read them.
1. The app
Typesmith is a keyboard for Android. You may install and use it on any Android device you own or control, for any lawful purpose. It is licensed to you, not sold; the app and everything in it remain ours or our licensors'. Don't copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute it beyond what the law allows regardless of these terms.
The keyboard, its languages, suggestions and learning are free. The AI features need a large language model, which you can reach in one of the two ways below.
2. Using your own API key
You may enter an API key from a supported AI provider. Then:
- the app sends your requests straight to that provider, under your agreement with it — its terms, its privacy policy and its prices apply, and it bills you, not us;
- the key is yours to keep safe; the app stores it on your phone only;
- we are not responsible for the provider's availability, its output, or what it charges.
3. Typesmith AI subscription
Typesmith AI is a subscription that lets the AI features work without a key of your own: the app sends requests to our server, which forwards them to a model we choose and pay for.
- Buying and billing. Subscriptions are sold through Google Play at the price shown there, in your local currency, and renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Google Play bills you and handles refunds under its refund policy. Any free trial is as described on the purchase screen; if you don't cancel before it ends, the paid period starts.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in Google Play (Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
- What you get. The AI features, with a daily allowance of use that is generous for a keyboard — more than anyone types in a day — but not unlimited. The app shows the allowance; if you reach it, the features return the next day. We may adjust the allowance, and will say so in the app if we lower it.
- The model. We choose which model answers, and we may change it to keep quality up or costs down. The subscription does not include choosing a model; using your own key does.
- Fair use. The service is for use through the Typesmith app by the subscriber. Automating requests, sharing a subscription, or using it as a general-purpose API is not allowed, and we may suspend a subscription that does.
- Availability. We aim to keep the service up, and rely on cloud providers and AI providers to do so. When it is down, the app says so; a long outage will be credited where Google Play's tools allow it. The keyboard itself keeps working without the service.
4. AI output
Language models make things up, get facts wrong, and sometimes produce text that is inappropriate. What the AI writes is a suggestion: you are responsible for what you send, post or rely on. Don't use the AI features for anything where a wrong answer would hurt someone — medical, legal or financial decisions, for example — without checking it.
Don't use the AI features to generate content that is illegal, that harasses or defames anyone, or that infringes someone's rights. The AI providers have their own usage policies, which apply to requests sent to them.
5. Your data
What the keyboard does with what you type, and what our server keeps, is in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. In one line: your typing stays on your phone; only text you send to the AI leaves it; our server keeps none of it.
6. Ending things
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, and end a subscription in Google Play. We may end or suspend the service, or your access to it, if you break these terms or if we discontinue it; if we discontinue Typesmith AI, we will give notice in the app and the unused part of any subscription period will be refunded through Google Play.
7. No warranty; limits on liability
The app and the service are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about them — that they will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose — and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss arising from AI output. Our total liability for anything connected with the app or the service is limited to what you paid us for the subscription in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change affects the subscription or your rights, the app will tell you before it applies, and continuing to use the service after that is acceptance. The date at the top is the current version's.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without prejudice to the consumer protection rules of the country you live in, which apply to you regardless.
